My Story - Beginnings and who I am
"This is my story I was born in Johannesburg. Taken home to a house in Melville by my dad.
My mother did not bond well with me from what I understand. Perhaps immaturity, perhaps physiological, I will never know.
The name I was Given at birth was Rosalind Kathleen Webber. I was the fourth child to Henri and Pamela Webber
My mother was a Pearce has a sister named Marie
I was privileged to meet both grandfathers Walter Webber the distinguished highly skilled Taylor and Henry Pearce “Harry” was his nickname. He was in the Royal Navy
Only met one of my grandmothers, she was a significant role model of “Perfection” she taught me in everything she did, my love of sewing, cooking and baking came from her she was known as Johanna by all to me she was “Granny”
One of the greatest blessing a child can have is the love from a grandparent it’s a whole other level of love
It has been my absolute joy to have the love of grandchildren over the years. Some more than others but what I have received has brought me untold Joy. I hope I’ve given them each something in their lives to remind them of the times we have spent together.
I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I hold relationships very dear to me. I am a continuous work in progress, always dreaming up ways to design that special little something, to bring joy. I love anything to do with crafting.
I’m not sure my gifts are as treasured to the receiver as it is for me making an item with the person in mind.
I’ve made many quilts given many away only have photo to keep the memory alive.
My life has been fairly healthy and somewhat challenging rather than dwelling on the challenges I’ve faced.
I would prefer to share what I have learned through those challenges.
The memories are beginning to fade so I’ve decided to write as many of them down. Perhaps it will be of interest. Perhaps it will teach some values.
It is my wish not to prescribe or expect others views to change but to add to and to gain an understanding and an appreciation for who I am and trying to become. Every moment through out the day we get to choose how we want the day to be even though we navigate through distractions.
I start my day with what can I do to make someone happy. Pick a person and make their day, for example when shopping buy an item like a pie while approaching my car I will scan the parking lot find someone who may need a pick me up.
It brings a smile to their faces and you feel the joy = great day. By the end of a day my goal is to have learned 5 new things I’ve been doing that since I turned 40 when I was made a grandmother. The idea was that I would be able to share interesting facts out of my head since grandchildren are smart and you have to keep up!!
The sabbath day is my happy day. Because I truly rest from my Labours.
So going forward I will pick a life’s challenge and talk of what I learned from that experience
